What we did

Everyday Canvassing partnered with the Office of Legislative Oversight to conduct mixed-method community engagement, including surveys, focus groups, and public events. The outreach centered renter experiences across languages and housing types, ensuring residents could safely share concerns about code enforcement practices and outcomes.

GOAL

Understand how renters experience housing code enforcement and identify systemic gaps affecting habitability, safety, and accountability.

OUTPUTS/REACH

  • Resident surveys collected documenting code enforcement experiences

  • Multiple public engagement events and tenant focus groups held

  • Findings used to inform OLO analysis and policy recommendations
